    FAQs

I understand that taking the first step towards seeking therapy can be both empowering and intimidating. I’m excited for your courage in considering therapy as a means to enhance your well-being and personal growth. To make your journey as smooth as possible, I’ve compiled a list of frequently asked questions to provide you with the information you need.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy can benefit individuals facing a variety of challenges, from managing stress and anxiety to navigating relationships. If you’re seeking a safe space to explore your thoughts and emotions, therapy might be right for you.

What topics can I discuss in therapy?

We are here to support you in navigating a wide range of topics, including but not limited to relationships, anxiety, depression, gender exploration or sexual identity, self-esteem, and personal identity. This is a confidential space where you can bring any matter that feels important to you.

Is everything I say in therapy confidential?

Confidentiality is a cornerstone of our therapeutic practice. What you share with your therapist remains confidential, with a few exceptions outlined in our confidentiality policy. Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us.

How can I schedule an appointment?

Scheduling an appointment is simple. You can reach out to us via self-scheduling with our button on our site, or directly email us  and Scotty will assist you in finding a convenient time for your first session. We understand the importance of flexibility and aim to accommodate your schedule as much as possible.

Do you offer In Person sessions?

No, we only offer tele-health therapy sessions for your ease and convenience.

How is talking to You vs. Friends or Family?

A mental health professional offers trained and experienced support, providing new perspectives, skills, and confidentiality. Unlike confiding in friends or family, counseling ensures a non-judgmental space.

How serious is counseling, and how should I behave during sessions?

Counseling is a space where authenticity is not just welcomed but encouraged. Come exactly as you are – whether you’re in your pajamas, your hair is not combed, or your clothes are unmatched. Need a potty break during the session? No problem, it’s your time. Feel free to express yourself using the words that resonate with your feelings; there are no forbidden words here. Your comfort is a priority.

Counseling sessions here are real and unfiltered. It’s common for genuine emotions to be expressed, and it’s okay if that involves the use of strong language. In fact, it’s very likely that cuss words may find their way into the conversation. Our focus is on providing a safe and non-judgmental space where you can be your true self. So, don’t hold back – we’re here to support you in your journey towards well-being.

How Does Therapy Work? What’s My Role?

Sessions are tailored to your unique needs. Your active participation and dedication will be crucial to your success, as we work together to address your specific issues and goals.

    How Long Will It Take?

The duration of counseling varies based on individual circumstances. Your commitment, desire for personal development, and the factors driving you to seek counseling determine the length of the process.

How Can I Maximize the Benefits?

Your dedication to active participation is key to getting the most out of your sessions. Some clients like to prepare by writing down things they’d like to cover in session over the course of the week and bringing that to therapy.

I am committed to supporting you every step of the way. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions or to schedule your first session. Your well-being is our priority.
